The Manual of imagingrium Image Processing Software
Ver.2.7.3.2

The imagingrium image processing software has functions of a color processing, a white balance, a line drawing, an image reduction, an image combine and an image saving. The color processing function that makes pictures beautiful with a simple drag & drop operation. This color processing function increases the brightness, color saturation and sharpness of images. Its noise deletion function is also applicable to noisy images. Because the color processing makes the shade area brighter, it is good for backlight correction as well as a reflector effect. The white balance function can correct RGB gains according to the selected color temperature, or can make an effect of the light source color. The line drawing function that extracts the edge elements from images. This line drawing function can change the thickness as well as the strength of the lines. The image reduction function is useful to make Web pictures, to combine images or to make icon pictures. Since there are the color replacement function and the pixel drawing function that can use transparent color, various image combines are possible. The formats that the image saving function can treat are of BMP, GIF, JPEG, ICON, PNG and TIF. Saving pictures with GIF format, they can be saved like color illustrations. Since there is a screen capture function, shown images on the PC screen cab be saved.
After the shareware expiration, the following 4 functions do not work without the license file: the color processing, white balance, color replacement and icon file saving. The other functions such as the line drawing, picture viewer, image format conversion (except ICON), screen capture, image combine, image reduction, image trimming and etc. can be executed without the license file.

1. Functional Explanation of imagingrium Image Processing Software

1.1. Available Image Formats

The image formats that this software can handle are BPM, GIF, JPG, PNG and TIF. Images of those formats can be shown, processed and saved by this software.

1) BMP
BMP is the standard image format of MS Windows. This format is usually used in the form of no compression and this software saves images without compression. That means the saved images have the same image data as the original images. If an image has no transparent color, 3 bytes per 1 pixel are used for the saving. If an image has a transparent color, 4 bytes per 1 pixel are used for the saving. The additional 1 byte is used as the alpha channel for the transparent color in this software.

2) GIF
GIF is the image format that is often used for illustrations or character expressions in Web pages. It is 256 colors of bit map image. The method to convert full color to 256 colors is selectable from a dither method and 5 types of quantizations. Since there is no resolution data in this format, it is treated as 96.0 dpi in this software.

3) ICON (ICO)
ICON is the small images that are used as the icons of execution files or the shortcuts of MS Windows or FAVICON of Web pages. The image sizes this software can save as ICON are 16x16, 32x32, 48x48 and 64x64.

NOTE: After the shareware expiration, the license file is necessary to save icon files.

4) JPG
JPG is the image format that utilized the full color JPEG compression. It is suitable to save photos into media or to publish them in home pages of the internet. The quality of compressed images can be selected in this software. It should be noticed that the image data is degraded if the JPEG image is compressed repeatedly.

5) PNG
PNG is the free license substitute for GIF, which had a license issue even though its patent term is already expired.

6) TIF
TIF is the image format that is often used for electronic publishing.

Note: The minimum size of images this software can process is 8(width) x 8(height) pixels.
Note: The largest width and height of images are 16383 pixels.

1.2. Color Processing

The color processing of the imagingrium image processing software has an original function of increasing the brightness and color saturation of images and has special functions of sharpening and noise deletion.

1) Brightness and Color Saturation
The color processing makes images bright and colorful. Because of this function, it works as a reflector effect that is good for backlight correction or for shadow weakening.

2) Edge Enhancement
The color processing also gives the edge enhancement and noise deletion of images. Blurred images are sharpened, and noisy images are flattened.

3) Backlight Correction
Increasing the gain of the color processing, it works effectively for backlight correction.

NOTE: After the shareware expiration, the license file is necessary to execute the color processing.

1.3. White Balance

The white balance function corrects or makes the color effect of light source. The color is selectable by setting the value of color temperature (K) or by clicking a white pixel.

1.4. Line Drawing

The line drawing of the imagingrium image processing software extracts the edge of images. The thickness and strength of the lines can be changed and they can be switched between with color and without color.

1.5. Process Utilities

1) Setting the Name of Output Image File
The folder names and file names of output images can change.
See 2.3. Setting the Name of Output Image File

2) Maximum Size of Images
Maximum pixel width and height of images can be controlled. To fit with the maximum size, the reducing or center framing of the images is applicable. The dpi resolution of the images can be set during the display or the process. GIF's resolution is set as 96.0 dpi.

3) Drag & Drop Process
If an image file is dragged from Windows Explore and dropped onto this software's window, the file is selected as an input image. Depending on settings, the input image is displayed and processed, and the processed image is displayed and saved. In case of being saved, the image format is selectable. One or more files can be selected with the drag & drop.

1.6. Image Windows

1.6.1. Select an Input Image
A left-double-click on a shown image window sets itself as an input image and shows the image name in the text box of "Input Image Selection" frame.

1.6.2. Move, Resize and Display Region of Image Windows
The image windows can be moved and resized like other Windows' applications by mouse operations. Further, the display region of images can be changed by drag & drop operation on image areas.

1.6.3. The Number of Image Windows
The maximum number that image windows are shown is 21. If 21 of image windows are already shown, one of shown images must be deleted in order to see a new image. A left-click on "X" at its upper right corner deletes itself. If an image size is so big that the memory capacity of user's computer is not enough, the next image may not be shown even though the shown images are less than 21 widows. A new image is numbered with a number incremented by one from the last image number.

1.6.4. Popup Menu Functions of Image Windows
If the shown image area is right-clicked, the popup menu appears and shows a list of functions and sub-menus. Then left-click one of them to execute the function. The followings explain the functions.

1) Unification of Image Windows
If shown images are same in width and height, the window size, zoom ratio and display region of them can be unified. Further, the position of the windows can be even unified.

2) Pixel Values and Bring to Front
The pixel values of images can be displayed in a table. If shown images are the same in width and height as those of the right-clicked image, their pixel values are also shown in the table. Further, a left-click on the shown data brings the related image window to front.

3) Zoom Image
The image of an image window can be enlarged by 2, 4 and 8 times and can be reduced to 1/2, 1/4 and 1/8.

4) Save Image
In order to save an image, right-click it, place the mouse cursor to "Save Image" and left-click "Jpeg," "Bmp," "Gif," "Ico," "Png" or "Tif." Respectively, the extension of the file name is set to be jpg, bmp, gif, ico, png or tif. The quality can be set in case of JPEG compression. The GIF Type must be set in case of GIF format.

5) Trim Image
A selected rectangle area of an image window can be displayed within a new window.

6) Back Color
The back color in image windows can be selected out of black, gray, white and a color table. If pixels of an image are transparent, the color is this back color.

7) Rotate Image
Images can rotate 90 degree clockwise, 90 degree counterclockwise, 180 degree, flip to mirror image, upside down and arbitrary angle. Right-click an image, select "Rotate Image" and left-click one of the sub-menu.

8) Copy Image
This is one of the image combine functions. This sets the right-clicked image as a source image.

9) Paste Image
This is one of the image combine functions. This pastes a source image to the right-clicked image window. The pasted image can move with mouse's left dragging. The popup menu appears if the pasted image is right-clicked. See 2.11.4 for the functions.

10) Paste Image from Clipboard
This is one of the image combine functions. This pastes an image of the clipboard to the right-clicked image window. This image can be treated as the image described in the above "9) Paste Image."

11) Color Replacement
With the dialog box of "Color Replacement," a similar color of a left-clicked pixel can replace with a specified drawing color. Here, a transparent color or a half transparent color can be set as the drawing color.
"Color Filling at Click" makes the clicked area that has the similar color to one of the clicked pixel be the drawing color. "Color Replacement with Click" makes the pixels that have the similar color of the clicked pixel to be the drawing color. "Filling with Original Pixels" makes the clicked area that has the drawing color to be the original color.
Further, points, lines and rectangles can be drawn with the drawing color, and the swelling, shrinking and inversing of the drawing color are available.

NOTE: After the shareware expiration, the license file is necessary to use the color replacement function.

12) Pixel Drawing
With "Pixel Drawing," points, lines, rectangles and color gradation can be drawn with selected colors. The selected color can be the transparent value (alpha channel) only, with which RGB values of pixels remain same.


1.6.4. Popup Menu Functions of Pasted Images
If a pasted image in an image window is right-clicked, the popup menu appears and shows a list of functions and sub-menus. Then left-click one of them to execute the function. The followings explain the functions.

1) Bring to Front
If there are more pasted images than one, this function brings the right-clicked image to front.

2) Send to Back
If there are more pasted images than one, this function sends the right-clicked image to back.

3) Zoom Image
This function enlarges or reduces the shown image like "Zoom Image" in 1.6.4.

4) Copy Image
This sets the right-clicked image to be a source of a pasted image to an image window.

5) To a Window
This brings the right-clicked image to an image window.

6) Color Replacement
To the pasted image, this works like "Color Replacement" of 1.6.4.

7) Fix Image
This function overwrites the right-clicked image onto the image window. After executing this function, key typing of "Ctrl-X" makes the fixed image be erased.

8) Delete Image
The pasted image can be deleted by right-clicking it and by left-clicking "Delete Image."

2. Operational Explanation for imagingrium Image Processing Software

Start up
1) A left-double-click the imagingrium icon on Windows Desktop starts up this software.
2) If the icon cannot be found, open the folder of "imagingrium" by using Windows Explorer and left-double-click on the imagingrium application file: imagingrium.exe.

If the OS of your computer is Japanese version, this software starts in Japanese. If the OS is not Japanese version, this software starts in English. The language is changeable; see "2.1.10. Language Selection."

Note 1: To start up Windows Explorer, left-click "Start" of Windows Desktop, right-click "My Computer" and left-click "Explorer."
Note 2: If you forget the folder name of imagingrium application, search the application by name of "imagingrium.exe."
Note 3: To start up Windows Search function, left-click "Start" of Windows Desktop and "Search."

2.1. Main Menu

2.1.1. Color Processing Window, White Balance and Line Drawing Window
The color processing window is the first window you see, when this software is started up. To change to the white balance window or line drawing window, left-click "Image Process" of the main menu and left-click "White Balance" or "Line Drawing." To go back to the color processing window, left-click "Image Process" of the main menu and left-click "Color Processing."

2.1.2. Input File Selection
To select an input image, left-click "File" of the main menu and left-click "Image File Selection," and then select a folder and an image file since "Select Input Image File" dialog box is displayed.

2.1.3. Save Image
In order to save a shown image, after left-clicking the image, left-click "File" of the main menu and place the mouse cursor on "Save Image" and left-click one of "Jpeg," "Bmp," "Gif," "Ico," "Png" and "Tif" of a popup menu.
At "Save As" dialog box, select a place and a file name, and left-click "Save" button to save.

2.1.4. Close This Software
In order to exit this software, left-click "File" of the main menu and left-click "Close This Software." When this software is closed, the image windows are also closed.
Another way to exit this software is left-clicking "X" at the upper right corner of the window.
The parameters except ones of the image processing are saved when the software is closed and they are loaded when the software is started up. Ones of the image processing mean ones of "Brightness & Color Saturation" frame and "Edge Enhancement" frame of the color processing and ones of "Line Type" frame and "Edge Enhancement" frame of the line drawing.

2.1.5. Screen Capture
The screen image of PC is captured by left-clicking "Screen Capture" of "Tools" of the main menu. To set the captured image as the input image of an image processing, left-double-click it.

2.1.6. Image Generation
As a base of an image combine, a colored image can be generated. By left-clicking "Image Generation" of "Tools" of the main menu, "New Image Generation" dialog box is shown. After setting the width, height and color, left-click "OK" button to get the image window.

2.1.7. Delete Image
All of the image windows are deleted by left-clicking "Delete Images" of the main menu.
Although this is not a main menu operation, left-clicking "X" of the upper right corner of an image window deletes the window.

2.1.8. Display This Manual
This manual is shown by left-clicking "Help" of the main menu and by left-clicking "Manual."

2.1.9. License Information
The license information is shown by left-clicking "Help" of the main menu and by left-clicking "About This Software." Its window is "imagingrium Image Processing Software" dialog box that explains the license owner, license termination, version number and license conditions of this software.

2.1.10. Language Selection
To show the Language Selection Dialog Box, left-click "Help" of the main menu and left-click "Languages." Left-click "Japanese" or "English" of the dialog box and left-click "OK" button, and close this software in order to change the language. When restarted, it will be in the selected language.
Since the dialog boxes of file, folder selection and color table, and the input image information of the main window are generated by OS, the language used for them is depending on the language Windows uses.

2.2. Input Image Selection

In "Input Image Selection" frame, there are "Display Image" button, "File Selection" button, an editable text box and the information of selected image. The text box shows the full path of selected image or it shows the image name if the image is displayed.

2.2.1. Selection of Input Image
There are several methods to select an input image

1) Image File Selection 1
In order to select an input image, first, left-click "File Selection" button of the main window. Then "Select Input Image File" dialog box appears. Here, change the file location, if necessary. Left-click a file to be selected and left-click the button of "Open."
Select "All files (*.*)" at "Files of type" in order to see "JPEG," "JPE" or "JFIF" files.

2) Image File Selection 2
The text box in the frame of Input Image Selection is editable and the file path can be specified by typing in it.

3) Image File Selection 3
Left-click "File" of main menu and "Image File Selection," and then the dialog box of "Select Input Image File" is shown. Select a file like the way written in 1).

4) Image File Selection 4
Drag an image file from the Windows Explore and drop into the main window of this software in order to select it. Note that not only the file is selected but also a process continues according to the selection of check boxes of "Process after Drop" for the drag and drop.

5) Image Selection 5
If the image windows are shown by this software, left-double-click one of the images in order to select the input. With this method, the tile of an image window is shown in the text box of "Input Image Selection."

2.2.2. Display Image
1) Display Image 1
After selecting an image file, left-click "Display Image" button. Then, the selected image is shown in an image window.

2) Display Image 2
First, check the box of "Display Input" in "Process After Drop" frame. Then, drag an image file from the Windows Explore and drop it into the main window of this software so the image is shown in an image window. Note that other processes are done according to the state of the check boxes.

3) Maximum Size of Images
If the check box of "Control Max Size" in "Max Size of Images" frame is on, the maximum size of images to be shown or to be processed is limited to the values of "Pixel Width" and "Pixel Height." If the image size is limited with this function, "-wwwxhhh" is put on as the suffix of the image name, where "www" is horizontal size and "hhh" is the vertical size. To control image sizes, interpolation ("Reduce"), subsampling and center trimming are selectable. DPI resolution is also changeable at "Max Size of Images" See "2.4. Maximum Size of Images " for the settings.

2.3. Setting the Name of Output Image File

2.3.1. Output Image Name
In the frame of "Output Image Name," there are the check boxes of "Input Image Name," "Process Type" and "Suffix Number," the button of "Prefix," the text boxes of "Prefix," "Suffix" and the output full path, and the numeric up down buttons with two opposite arrows of "Suffix Number." The full path in the text box is used at the file saving.

An example of the output full path is as follows:
(File directory of input file) + "¥"
+ (Text typed in the prefix text box)
+ (Input image name without the extension name)
+ (Text that shows the process)
+ (Text typed in the suffix text box)
+ (Suffix number).

If the text of the prefix text box starts with a drive name, an example of the output full path is as follows:
(Text typed in the prefix text box)
+ (Input image name without the extension name)
+ (Text that shows the process)
+ (Text typed in the suffix text box)
+ (Suffix number).

2.3.2. Check Boxes
If there is no check on the check boxes of "Input Image Name," "Process Type" and "Suffix Number," those texts are omitted from the output image name. If there is the check on the check box of "Suffix Number," the number is increased by one after the process. The number of "Suffix Number" is editable by left-clicking the two opposite arrows of "Suffix Number."

2.3.3. Path
Left-clicking "Prefix" button shows "Browse For Folder" dialog box. The output folder can be changed with the box. The selected folder path is shown in the text boxes of "Prefix" and the output full path.

2.3.4. Process Type
By checking the check box of "Process Type," the string that shows the type of process is added to the output name.
In case of the color processing, "CGmdrGiEnw" is added to the output name. Where, the m represents the value of "Gaining" and the range is 0 to 3. The value of i is the value of "Gray Ctrl"(control) and its range is 0 to 4. The value of n is the strength of "Edge Enhancement" and the range is 0 to 4. The dr shows that "Auto-Contrast" is on. The w shows that "Wide Edge Enhancement" is applied.
In case of the White Balance, "WBc," "WBe," "WBcxxxxK" or "WBexxxxK" is added to the output name. "WBc" shows that the white balance correction is applied with a pixel color. "WBe" shows that the white balance effect is applied with a pixel color."WBcxxxxK" shows that the white balance correction is applied with xxxx K of color temperature. "WBexxxxK" shows that the white balance effect is applied with xxxx K of color temperature.
In case of the Line Drawing, "OLxcEyn" is added to the output name. Where, the x represents the value of "Thickness" of "Line Type" and the range is 1,2 and 3. The y is "Strength" of "Edge Enhancement" and the range is 1 through 5. The c shows that the lines are "Colored Lines." The n shows that "Noise Reduction" is applied.

2.4. Maximum Size of Images

2.4.1. Reducing and Trimming
If the check box of "Control Max Size" of "Max Size of Images" frame is checked, the maximum pixel size can be set.
The settings can be done by typing the number of pixels in text boxes of "Pixel Width" and "Pixel Height."
There are 3 ways to limit the image size. Two of them are image reductions and the other is image trimming. Left-clicking "Reduce" sets the image reduction with interpolation, "Subsampling" sets the image reduction with subsampling pixels and "Center" sets the image trimming.
Note that if a selected image is smaller than the maximum size in both dimensions, the size of the input image is not changed.

2.4.2. DPI Resolution
If the check box of "Control Max Size" of "Max Size of Images" frame is checked, a typed value in "DPI Resolution" text box will be the dpi resolution of output images. If the value of "DPI Resolution" is not set, the dpi resolution of an output image is one of an input image. The dpi resolutions of images are used when they are saved. However, if they are saved in GIF, the dpi resolutions are not used because GIF format does not have the information. The dpi resolution of GIF image is treated as 96.0 dpi in this software. For the images of WEB page, it may be a good idea to set the value as 96 dpi.
Note that the value of dpi is the pixels per an inch and affects to WORD files or PDF files, or the printout. Note also that there is the case that ppi are used instead of dpi.

2.5. Drag & Drop Process

In "Process After Drop" frame, there are the check boxes of "Display Input," "Display Output" and "Save Image." If "Save Image" is checked, the drop down list of "Image Format" appears. If "Image Format" is "JPG," the numeric up down buttons of "JPEG Quality" appears. Set a value between 1 and 100. The highest quality is 100. If "Image Format" is "GIF," the numeric up down buttons of "GIF Type" appears. The value 0 is for a dither method with 256 colors. If the value is between 1 and 5, a quantization method is applied and the larger value is for higher color quality.
If an image file is dragged from Windows Explore and is dropped into the main window of this software, the input image selection, input display, output display and image save are executed automatically according to the checks of "Process After Drop" frame.
At Windows Explore, if plural files are selected with "Shift" key or "Ctrl" key, the drag and drop process is applied to all of them, one by one.

2.6. Terminate Drag & Drop Process

To terminate the drag and drop process, left-click the button of "Stop Process." If the size of image is large, it may take time until it stops.

2.7. Default Parameters

To change the parameters of this software to the default, left-click the button of "Set Default."

2.8. Color Processing

The color processing window appears when this software is started. If another window is shown, left-click "Image Process" of the main menu and left-click "Color Processing" of the sub-menu in order to switch to the color processing window.

1) A Way to Execute the Color Processing
To execute the color processing, left-click "Execute Color Processing" button after the selection of an input image.

2) Another Way to Execute the Color Processing
The drag and drop of an image file has the color processing be executed. Here, the color processing window must be shown and "Display Output" of "Process After Drop" must be checked.

3) Brightness and Color Saturation
To control the brightness and color saturation, change the value of "Gaining" of "Brightness and Color Saturation." Notice that the value of zero means no gaining. The value mainly increases the brightness. To increase color saturation further, repeat the "Execute Color Processing" to the output. In order to set the output as the input, left-double-click the output.

4) Auto-Contrast
A contrast correction is done automatically if the check box of "Auto-Contrast" is checked. Because this function corrects the deviation of pixel values, whitish pictures are often corrected properly. If there is no particular deviation, this function does nothing.

5) Gray Control
"Gray Ctrl"(Control) works on the pixel values that have low saturation and low brightness. The range of its value is 0 to 4. The value of 0 means no control for the gaining. The value of 4 means the largest suppression of the gain. This is useful in case black becomes whitish. Please try to set this value to zero for a backlight correction.

6) Edge Enhancement
If pictures are out of focus, this edge enhancement sharpens the pictures. The strength is adjustable with "Strength" of "Edge Enhancement." The value of zero means no sharpening operation.

7) Wide Edge Enhancement
If the check box of "Wide Edge Enhancement" is checked, a wide range of pixels are used by the filter that gives depth to the pictures.

8) Noise Deletion
If the value of "Noise Del." of "Edge Enhancement" group is larger than 0, a noise deletion function works in the color processing. The range of the value is 0 to 12. The larger value is the stronger noise deletion.
Note: The noise deletion takes time so please apply to noisy images.

9) Backlight Correction
For a backlight correction, increase the value of "Gaining" of "Brightness and Color Saturation" and try to remove the check of "Auto-Contrast" and try to set a small value of "Gray Ctrl" before executing the color processing. If the brightness is not enough, repeat the process.

10) Processing an Output Image
To process an output image, left-double-click it so that it becomes an input image and left-click "Execute Color Processing" button.

2.9. White Balance
To Change to the white balance window, left-click "Image Process" of the main menu and left-click "White Balance" of the sub-menu. The shown color of the white balance is made bright so the specified color is well seen.

1) Correction and Effect
If the radio button of "Correct" is selected, the white balance color becomes white. If "Effect" radio button is selected, white becomes the white balance color.

2) Color Temperature
If "Color Temperature" radio button is selected, the color of the white balance is set with the value of color temperature. The color temperature is set to be 1000 K (red) to 20000 K (blue). The color for the color temperature is calculated with Planck's Law and the spectrum sensitivity distribution of human eyes.

3) Click White Pixel
If "Click White Pixel" radio button is selected, the color of the white balance is set by left-clicking an image. Before clicking, set the value that specifies the calculation method because the average color of the white balance is calculated from 1 pixel or 5, 9, 13, 17, 21 and 25 pixels or the whole pixels. If "Off" button is left-clicked, the image can be moved without changing the color by dragging. If "On" button is left-clicked the color of white balance is selected by left-clicking.

2.10. Line Drawing

To change to the line drawing window, left-click "Image Process" of the main menu and left-click "Line Drawing" of the sub-menu. Of the line drawing parameters, the thickness and strength of lines are selectable. Moreover, whether they are colored lines or not and whether the noise reduction is applied or not are selectable.

1) Thickness of Lines
The value of "Thickness" of "Line Type" is 1, 2 and 3 and the larger is the thicker.

2) Colored Lines
If the check box of "Colored Lines" of "Line Type" is checked, the line drawing is colored.

3) Strength of Edge Enhancement
The range of "Strength" in "Edge Enhancement" is from 1 through 5.

4) Noise Reduction
If the check box of "Noise Reduction" in "Edge Enhancement" is checked, noise and weak lines are removed.

2.11. Operation of Image Windows

2.11.1. Set an Input Image
Left-double-click the image area of an image window, and then the name of the image is shown in the text box of "Input Image Selection" and the image is set as input.
See "2.2 Image File Selection" for other ways of selecting an input image.

2.11.2. Move, Resize and Display a Region
1) To move an image window, drag its title bar and drop it at the place you like.
2) Drag and drop the corner or side of image window in order to resize the display region. The size cannot be larger than the image size and cannot be smaller than a certain size.
3) If the display region is smaller than the image size, the shown area is changeable by dragging and dropping the image of an image window.

2.11.3. Popup Menu of Image Windows
Right-clicking on the image of an image window, a popup menu is shown. By left-clicking its items, the following functions will are executed.

1) Unification of Image Windows
If a plural of images are shown in same size, the display region, zoom ratio and the location of image windows ca be uniformed.
Right-click an image and left-click "Display Region" of "Unify Image Windows," and then the images are unified in the display region and the zoom ratio.
Right-click an image and left-click "Overlap" of "Unify Image Windows," and then the images are unified at the upper left corners of the image window as well as the display region and the zoom ratio.

2) Pixel Values and Bring to Front
After right-clicking an image, left-click "Pixel Values and Bring to Front" so that the window of "Pixel Values/To Front" appears. The window shows the ARGB values of the pixel pointed with your mouse. If other images in the same size are being displayed, the pixel values of them are also shown. The "A" of "ARGB" means the alpha channel that expresses the transparency of the color.
If the image is left-clicked, the pixel values are fixed. If the image is left-clicked again, the pixel values are varied by the mouse position.
This window of "Pixel Values/To Front" belongs to the right-clicked image so the pixel values do not change even if a mouse cursor is moved on other images.
As left-clicking one of the shown pixel values, the related image window is shown in front.

3) Zoom Image
To enlarge or to reduce the image, right-click it so the popup menu appears and left-click "x1," "x2," "x4," "x8," "1/2," "1/4" or "1/8" of "zoom image." The selection of "xn" makes the original image enlarge n times by copying pixel values, where n is 2, 4 and 8. The selection of "1/m" reduces the image size to 1/m by subsampling, where m is 2, 4 and 8. The "x1" returns it to the original size.
After the zooming, the right-clicked pixel is put at the center of the shown area as far as the point is surrounded with enough pixels.

4) Save Image
To save an image, first, right-clicking on it and move the mouse cursor to "Save Image." Then, left-click "Jpeg," "Bmp," "Gif," "Ico," "Png" or "Tif." Since the dialog box of "Save File As .." appears, left-click "Save" button if the name and the folder are OK. Within the dialog box, the file name and folder name are changeable.
4.a) JPG
Just before JPEG files are saved, "Jpeg Quality" dialog box appears in order to set the quality value: 1 to 100. The larger is the higher quality. The smaller is the lower volume. Left-click "OK" button to save at the end.
4.b) GIF
Just before GIF files are saved, the dialog box of "GIF Color Variation" appears to set the GIF type with a value. By setting 0, a dither method is used to make full color to 256 colors. The value of 1 to 5 means a quantization method is used. The value of 1 means the method uses less colors and 5 means more colors.
4.c) ICO
Icon files are used for shortcut icons on Desktop, or FAVICONs for Web sites as well as a resource of execution programs. If the size of an image does not fit to 16x16, 32x32, 48x48 or 64x64, it is subsampled to fit into one of them.

5) Trim Image
With this function, a selected rectangle area of an image window is shown in another image window. "Image Trimming" dialog box appears if "Trim Image" of the popup menu is left-clicked. Select "Upper Left" radio button and left-click on the window to set the upper left corner of the area. Select "Lower Right" radio button and left-click on the window to set the lower right corner of the area. After left-clicking "OK" button, the trimmed image is shown in another image window.

6) Back Color
The background color of image windows is changeable to black, gray or white, or selected color from a color table. To do so, right-click the image and left-click "Black," "Gray" or "White," or "'Color Table' of 'Back Color,'" respectively.

7) Rotate Image
After right-clicking an image, move the mouse cursor onto "Rotate Image" and left-click "90 Degree Counterclockwise," "90 Degree Clockwise," "180 Degree," "Mirror Image" or "Upside Down," and then the image rotates 90 degree counterclockwise, 90 degree clockwise, 180 degree, mirror image or upside down, respectively.
If left-click "Arbitrary Angle," the dialog box of "Rotation" appear. The rotation angle can be set by twice of left-clicking on the image or by typing a value. To execute the rotation with the angel, left-click "Rotate" button. To retrieve the original image, left-click "Init Image" button. If the angle is set by the twice of clicking, a fine tuning can be made by changing the positions of the "First Point" and "Second Point." After the rotation, void areas appear. The color of the void areas can be set either with "Transparent" color or with "Image Flipping."
If it rotates 90 degree counterclockwise, "r-90" is added to the image name. If it rotates 90 degree clockwise, "r90" is added. If it rotates 180 degree, "r180" is added. If it rotates to the mirror image, "rh" is added. If it rotates upside down, "rv" is added.

8) Copy Image
To paste an image to a base image of an image window, a source image must be specified in the beginning. To do so, left-click "Copy Image" of the popup menu. Note that this operation copies the image to the clipboard of Windows, but the alpha channel is not copied.

9) Paste Image
By left-clicking "Paste Image" of the popup menu, the specified source image is pasted onto the right-licked base image. Left-drag the pasted image in order to move it around on the image window. Right-drag the pasted image in order to move all images in the image window.

10) Paste Image from Clipboard
If there is an image in the clipboard of Windows, left-clicking "Paste Image from Clipboard" of the popup menu pastes the image of Clipboard onto the base image.

11) Replace Color
If "Replace Color" of the popup menu is left-clicked, the dialog box of "Color Replacement" appears. With this dialog box, a similar color of left-clicked pixel is replaced with a drawing color. The drawing color may a transparent color or a half transparent color. Further, specified points, lines and rectangle can be drawn with the drawing color.

11.a) Move Image
When "Color Replacement" dialog box is shown, the image in the image window is stopped being moved. In order to move the image, left-click the radio button of "Move Image."

11.b) Drawing Color and Color Table
To select the drawing color, left-click the radio button of "Drawing Color" and left-click a pixel of the image. Another way to select the drawing color is to choose a color from the color table that is shown by left-clicking the button of "Color Table." The value of "Alpha" is the transparency of the drawing color; 0 means transparent, 255 means completely opaque and the transparency is (255-Alpha)x100/255 %.

11.c) +1 or -1 if Original is Drawing Color
For the process of "Color Filling at Click", "Color Replacement with Click," or "Filling with Original Pixels" if some pixels of the original image are the drawing color, their value can be added or subtracted by 1 as the output image. For example, if the color of original pixels is the drawing color and if the radio button of "Red" is selected, the value of the red element is added by 1 (or is subtracted by one if it is 255).
Note: If "Color Filling at Click" is set and if "Delete Isolated Pixels" is larger than 0, the values added by one or subtracted by one may return with the original color during the process of "Delete Isolated Pixels."

11.d) Color Filling at Click
If the radio button of "Color Filling at Click" is selected, the similar colors and the connected pixels to a left-clicked pixel are replaced with the drawing color. The region of the similar color is set at "Brightness Tolerance" and "Color Tolerance."
If the value of "Delete Isolated Pixels" is larger than 0, the isolated input color becomes to the drawing color. For example, "100" is set to the value, the pixels that have the input color and whose group consists less or equal to 100 pixels become to the drawing color.

11.e) Color Replacement with Click
If the radio button of "Color Replacement with Click" is selected, the similar colors to a left-clicked pixel are replaced with the drawing color. The region of the similar color is set at "Brightness Tolerance" and "Color Tolerance."
If the value of "Delete Isolated Pixels" is larger than 0, the isolated drawing color becomes to the input color and the isolated input color becomes to the drawing color.

11.f) Filling with Original Pixels
If the radio button of "Filling with Original Pixels" is selected, the similar colors and the connected pixels to a left-clicked pixel are replaced with the original color.

11.g) Set Pixel with Drawing Color
If this radio button is selected, the left-clicked pixel is set with the drawing color. The left-click of "Retrieve" button puts the original color back pixel by pixel. The maximum number of pixels that can be retrieved is 100.

11.h) Retrieve Pixel by Pixel
If this radio button is selected, the color of the left-clicked pixel goes back to the original color.

11.i) Region of Interest (Click twice)
If the radio button of Region of Interest is selected, one of "Set Rect," "Draw Line" or "Paint Rect Area" gets active.

11.j) Set Rect, Shown Area and Whole Area
The area processed by "Color Filling at Click," "Color Replacement with Click," "Filling with Original Pixels," "Swell," "Shrink" and "Inverse" is limited with a rectangular area. The area is set by two clicks on the image after making the radio button of "Set Rect" on. If "Shown" button is left-clicked, the processed area is limited to the shown area. If "Whole Area" button is left-clicked, the area is the whole area of the image.

11.k) Draw Line
Clicking twice on the image draws a line between their points with the drawing color if this radio button is made active.

11.l) Paint Rect Area
If this radio button is active, the rectangle made by two clicks is filled with the drawing color.

11.m) Swell, Shrink and Inverse
If "Swell" button is left-clicked, the drawing color gets swell. If "Shrink" button is left-clicked, the drawing color gets shrink. If "Inverse" button is left-clicked, the drawing color gets back to the original color and the original color is changed to the drawing color.

11.n) Retrieve and Init Image
If "Retrieve" button is left-clicked, the previous image before the process of "Color Filling at Click," "Color Replacement with Click," "Filling with Original Pixels," "Draw Line" and "Paint Rect Area" is retrieved. It works 3 times at a time.
If "Init Image" button is left-clicked, the drawn color disappears and the original image is shown.

Note: Comparison of expanding the drawing color at the processes of "Color Filling at Click" and "Color Replacement with Click"

12) Pixel Drawing
Left-clicking "Draw Pixel" of the popup menu that shown after left-clicking on the image window, the dialog box of "Pixel Drawing" is shown. With the box, 6 sets of ARGB can be set and be used to draw pixels. "A" of "ARGB" means the alpha channel that is the value for transparency. Further, there are the colors which have only alpha channels. With the colors, the alpha channel can be changed without changing RGB. To active one of eight colors, left-click one of the radio buttons for colors.
Note: "Pixel Drawing" dialog box does not open for the pasted images.

12.a) Select Color
If the radio button of "Select Color" is selected, the activated color is changed to a color of a left-clicked pixel of images. Another way to set the color is selecting one from the color table that is shown by left-clicking "Table" button.

12.b) Draw
If "Draw" radio button is selected, one of "Point," "Line", "Rect" and "Gradation" must be selected.
If "Point" is activated, the color of the left-clicked pixel gets to be the selected color. "Back" button just right to "Point" radio button is to retrieve the original color after the drawing of "Point." This button works 100 times at a time.
If "Line" is activated, the twice of left-clicks draws the line between their points.
If "Rect" is activated, the rectangle made by the twice of left-clicks is filled with the selected color.
If "Gradation" is activated, left-click 3 times. The first 2 clicks are for a line and the third click is to make its horizontal line. The first line is drawn with the first color specified with one of the color radio buttons. The horizontal line is drawn with the "2nd Color" specified by color number. Then, the area between those lines is drawn with color gradation.
"Back" button that is located just right to "Rect" radio button is to retrieve the original color that is changed by "Line", "Rect" and "Gradation." This button works three times at a time.

12.c) Allow to Move Image
When "Pixel Drawing" dialog box is shown, the image in the image window is stopped being moved In order to move the image, left-click the radio button of "Allow to Move Image."

2.11.4. Popup Menu Functions of Images on an Image Window
Right-clicking on a pasted image of an image window, a popup menu is shown. By left-clicking its items, the following functions will are executed.

1) Bring to Front
If there are more than two pasted images, the left-click on "Bring to Front" brings the right-clicked image to front.

2) Send to Back
If there are more than two pasted images, the left-click on "Send to Back" sends the right-clicked image to behind within the pasted images.

3) Zoom Image
Moving the mouse cursor to "Zoom Image" and left-clicking "1/1," "x2," "x4," "x8," "1/2," "1/4" or "1/8" makes the images to 1/1, or enlarges x2, x4 or x8, or reduces 1/2, 1/4 or 1/8, respectively. This function is the same as "3) Zoom Image" of "2.11.3. Popup Menu of Image Windows."

4) Copy Image
Left-clicking "Copy Image" of the popup menu sets the right-clicked image as a source image to paste. This action also copies the image to the clipboard.
Note: Images are pasted only on base images of image windows, so there is no "Paste Image" item in the popup menu of pasted images.

5) To a Window
Left-clicking "To a Window" of the popup menu generates the new image window of the right-clicked image.

6) Replace Color
Left-clicking "Replace Color" of the popup menu shows "Color Replacement" dialog box. See "11) Replace Color" of "2.11.3. Popup Menu of Image Windows."

7) Fix Image
Left-clicking "Fix Image" of the popup menu fixes the pasted image to the base image. The maximum number of pasted images on a base image is 10. To paste another image other than 10 to the base image, fix one of the pasted images.

8) Delete Image
Left-clicking "Delete Image" of the popup menu erases the right-clicked image.


3. Use of Windows Standard Application

There is no printout function in this software. The one way to printout images is to save them and to use MS Paint application of Windows.

3) As a reference, the following specification is of the hardware used for the testing:

Memory: 504MB
Virtual Memory: 1512MB(Size of Page File (MB): 753-1512)

How to Set Virtual Memory:
STEP1. Logon the computer as an administrator
STEP2. Left-click "Start" button of the Desktop and right-click "My Computer" and left-click "Properties" of the popup menu.
STEP3. After the dialog box of "System Properties" appears, left-click the tab of "Advanced," and then left-click "Settings" button of "Performance" section.
STEP4. After the dialog box of "Performance Option" appears, left-click the tab of "Advanced," and then left-click the "Change" button under "Virtual Memory" section.
STEP5. After the dialog box of "Virtual Memory" appears, select "Drive [Volume Label]," check the radio button of "Custom size" and type values in "Initial size (MB)" and "Maximum size (MB)." Respectively, 753 and 1512 are the values that have been used for the testing.
STEP6. Left-click "OK" of the dialog boxes shown in order to close all of them.
STEP7. Restart the computer to activate the values.

6. How to Uninstall
1) How to uninstall imagingrium Image Processing Software
In order to uninstall this software, delete the folder in which it is installed. To do so, open the folder with Windows Explore, right-click the folder of "imagingrium" and left-click "delete" of the popup menu. If there are necessary files under the folder of "imagingrium," move them to another folder before deleting.

2) How to uninstall .Net Framework 2.0
In order to uninstall Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 and the Language Pack, first uninstall the Language Pack before .Net Framework 2.0.
Left-click "Start" of the Desktop and left-click "Control Panel," and find and left-click "Add/Remove Programs." Find and left-click "Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 Language Pack" in the list of "Currently installed programs" and left-click "Change/Remove" button and delete it. Do the same to "Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0."
Caution: If there is some application that works with .Net Framework 2.0 other than this software, the application will not work after the uninstallation.
